TIE/ln Fighter
Affiliation:
Description:

The most common starfighter in the Galaxy, the TIE/ln is an extremely potent weapon in the hands of an experienced pilot. At the heart of this ship is the P-s4 twin ion engine, an upgraded and refined version of Raith Sienar's original SIE-TIE concept design. This engine contains no moving parts, and its ease of use gives the TIE/ln the best maintenance-to-flight time ratio of any modern mass-production fighter.

TIE/rc Fighter
Affiliation:
Description:

An inconspicuous but vital component of the standard Imperial fighter wing, the TIE/rc variant is the most prominent sublight reconnaissance craft of the Galactic Civil War. Though the Empire makes extensive use of dedicated scout ships, those craft are built for maximum speed in hyperspace and tend to carry massive and expensive sensor equipment. Consequently, they are not suitable for deployment in or near a combat zone as they would be easy pickings for even the most humble snubfighter.

T.I.E. Fighter
Affiliation:
Description:

The Twin Ion Engine Starfighter revolutionized fighter design and fundamentally reshaped Imperial military doctrine. Based around Raith Sienar's radical Clone Wars-era SIE-TIE twin ion engine concept, these ships were faster and more maneuverable than anything seen before, and the Empire eagerly began planning to have them replace their aging starfighter force. Though small and cheap, the first full production models lacked the power required to provide adequate shielding, hyperdrive, and life support systems.
